Labor and the Greens today battle in Northcote with plastic bags.
Daniel Andrews is no longer sandbagging Northcote, he’s plastic-bagging it. Once again, Labor is focussing the Victorian Government on salvaging their position in a single seat they are petrified of losing.
Every step they take appears rushed and reactionary.
This morning, Environment Minister Lily D’Ambrosio struggled to consistently describe to media exactly what she was wanting to ban.
Currently there is already legislation before the Parliament on this issue put forward by minor parties and Daniel Andrews is just trying to play catch up.
The Liberal National will today introduce amendments into Parliament to ban single use retail plastic bags and micro beads.
If Daniel Andrews is committed to the environment, he should support these amendments in Parliament.
