Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update: Information You Need to Know

Monday 23 March 2020

In our local communities, we are seeing social and economic changes in our streets and upon our neighbours, in a way that has not been witnessed since wartime.

As you would be aware information is changing rapidly, so advice will be updated as changes occur.

SHUTDOWN – ‘PLACES OF SOCIAL GATHERING’.

From midday today, Victoria, in line with the rest of Australia, has agreed to close certain places of social gathering:

  • Pubs.
  • Clubs.
  • Nightclubs.
  • Crown Casino.
  • Licensed clubs in hotels and pubs
  • Gyms.
  • Indoor sporting venues.
  • Places of worship.
  • Cinemas.
  • Entertainment venues.
  • Restaurants and cafes (Restricted to takeaway and/or home delivery).

Note. The latest advice is that Weddings and Funerals can proceed, so long as social distancing rules are adhered to.

SCHOOLS – EARLY SCHOOL HOLIDAYS

Victorian government school holidays will be brought forward to begin on Tuesday 24 March, to allow teachers and staff to prepare flexible and remote learning programs for students. Term Two is scheduled to begin as normal, unless medical advice changes before that time.

If you need help, there is help. Over recent days, government, industry, and the community have come together to offer help. And over coming days more help will be offered. No one is alone. We are a community.
