The Andrews Government, through its agency Development Victoria, is proposing to redevelop the former Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) site on the corner of Burwood Highway and Scoresby Road, Knoxfield.

As part of this redevelopment, it is proposing to construct multistorey unit developments on the site plus potentially draining and redeveloping the current lake (Lake Knox) at the northern end of the property.

Lake Knox currently sustains threatened and endangered species and enables them to thrive—in particular, the blue-billed duck and a range of unique flora.

As part of this redevelopment process, local residents have raised serious concerns about the lack of community consultation.

It is important that the views of local residents are heard by the Andrews Government before construction occurs on the site, including the DESTRUCTION OF LAKE KNOX.
