Vulnerable children under the care of the Andrews Labor Government are continuing to fall through the cracks, and aren’t getting the support they need.
It’s appalling that the Andrews Government’s Human Services Department allowed a vulnerable girl to be taken out of one neglectful home and put straight into another.
Under Labor, child protection staff are unable to manage their high caseloads, and as a result, vulnerable children are falling through the cracks.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Child Protection, Nick Wakeling:
“It’s clear that the Department breached its duty of care to this vulnerable child, but the buck stops with Daniel Andrews and his Minister.
“The Andrews Labor Government has failed to give urgently-needed attention to Victoria’s child protection system.
“When you’ve got 14,400 calls to child protection going unanswered, under-resourcing, and increasing reports of child abuse, you’ve got a Victorian child protection system in crisis.”
